Illinois corruption-fighter Andy Martin, whose brawling style of pursuing Chicago gangster politicians and judges fits snugly in the Illinois milieu, has asked the Illinois Appellate Court in Chicago to place his name on the November 2nd ballot. Pursuant to Local Rule 6 Appellant moves this Honorable Court to order the placement of his name on the General Election ballot, pendente lite or, in the alternative, to direct the State of Illinois and its subdivisions to suspend the printing and distribution of ballots.
I.
THE FACTS APPLICABLE TO THIS MOTION
A. Who is the Appellant?
The Appellant has been fighting corruption in Illinois politics for forty-four years, since he was a law student at the University of Illinois College of Law. He first gained some notoriety in 1968 when he exposed that Secretary of State Paul Powell was collecting bribes; Powell died shortly thereafter and left behind shoeboxes stuffed with cash.
It is axiomatic that someone who has devoted his entire .professional life to fighting corruption is highly unpopular in both the political and judicial spheres of Illinois.[1] And appellant is unpopular, precisely because he seeks to protect and vindicate constitutional rights and oppose the corrupt practices which are so prevalent in this state.
Nevertheless, it is precisely because Appellant is willing to fight for the Constitution that this Court should afford him some measure of respect.
B. What is the State’s strategy?
The Attorney General told the circuit judge that the state wanted new hearings before the State Board of Elections if the Appellant prevailed in court. In other words, the state wants hearings after the election is over concerning whether a candidate is qualified to run in already-conducted election. The political machine of Michael Madigan and his daughter Lisa Madigan is just as corrupt and odious as the political machine of Pat Brady and the Illinois Republican Party who are acting against Appellant.
The current “joke” in the media is that Madigan has chosen his own Republican to run against. See attached Chicago Tribune story. What the author John Kass leaves out is that the Republican Party is chiding Madigan to draw attention from its own corrupt shenanigans against Appellant and other candidates before the State Board, employing straw men, conduits and illegal payments under federal law.
Can it get any worse? Should appellant be ridiculed for trying to clean up the Illinois cesspool one campaign for office and one election at a time?
C. The Emergency
Every two years Illinois courts conduct “election litigation” while votes are being cast in the very election where the courts are reviewing the qualifications of candidates. This year is no different. The attached articles confirm that (i) votes are being cast and ballots are being distributed while Appellant and other new political parties are fighting to be on the ballot; and (ii) in an ultimate paean to absurdity, election officials hope that citizens will not cast votes because of the unsettled state of the ballot.
D. The Illinois judicial system as an institution is
delegitimized when it participates in the electoral charades and sham election litigation involving straw men, conduits and perjured testimony that have become a hallmark of the election process in Illinois
When a court allows itself to be a part of a charade, the court suffers as an institution. Citizens believe that Illinois politics are corrupt. To the extent that the courts participate in a corrupt process the courts ultimately and eventually lose legitimacy as impartial arbiters of constitutional rights and procedures.
There is no rational reason why Illinois should be unlike other states, almost all of which manage to avoid electoral litigation altogether by prohibiting straw men/conduit “objectors” and endless proceedings over ballot access, and which (ii) manage to resolve ballot issues before the ballots are printed and distributed, not after.
The current system of conducting Illinois elections serves the interests of corrupt public officials and corrupt political parties. Ipso facto, the system violates the U.S. Constitution as applied to candidates for federal office.
II.
LEGAL BASIS TO GRANT RELIEF
A. The Court has authority to award relief pendente lite
The Court has the authority to issue orders which protect the rights of the Appellant while the Court considers the unusual constitutional issues presented. And, after placing Appellant on the ballot pendente lite, the Court can always remove him nunc pro tunc if it later finds he should not prevail. But voters will be allowed to “cast their votes” on Appellant’s candidacy “at a meaningful time and in a meaningful manner.”
B. The Court owes a higher duty to federal candidates
State courts are presumed to be competent to adjudicate federal constitutional rights and enjoy concurrent jurisdiction, Taflin v. Levitt, 493 U. S. 455, 458, 110 S. Ct. 792 (1990).
Regrettably, federal courts have held that state and local candidates are entitled to less procedural and substantive protection in electoral disputes than candidates for federal office. But there is a principled constitutional basis for that distinction.
Federal candidates are created by the U. S. Constitution; their candidacies are supervised by federal election officials at the Federal Election Commission and U. S. Senate; state officials play a limited, ministerial role as to candidacies and even ballot procedures must conform to the higher standards of the U.S. Constitution and federal law. Thus the Court has a basis to order the placement of Appellant’s name on the ballot.
The Court certainly reserves the right to rule adversely to the Appellant a later date, but the Court will no longer be conducting serious constitutional litigation under the hydraulic pressure of voters who are literally voting in the election where Appellant is a candidate.
Ironically, if this Court were to take a strong stand against present practices and issue a favorable interim ruling in Appellant’s favor, the General Assembly might in the future amend the election laws to afford judges a more rational period of time to resolve election disputes before ballots are printed and voters start voting. The current system is “broken.”
This is the classic case in which to order relief because the decision of the circuit court is objectively illogical and absurd: the court ruled that despite a very explicit and detailed statutorily-mandated procedure for service of process created by the Election Code, the fact that the respondent State Board of Elections failed to serve the Appellant was irrelevant and meaningless. The Appellant was deemed to be “aware” of the proceedings because he fled a lawsuit protesting the lack of proper statutory-mandated service!
Nothing could be more calculated to make the Illinois courts look ridiculous than a ruling in which protesting you have not been served suspends the need for actual service of process.
As long as the Courts act in a supine manner and pretend to ignore the reality of what is going on, the charade will continue.

Andy Martin exposes LeAlan Jones as a political fraud and a corrupt or fraudulent candifate for the United States Senate. The Green Party previously attacked Martin’s nominating petitions. “I have a long memory,” Andy says. “Especially for political slimeballs that attack me. Dear Mr. Capus:
I am not writing to insist that you include me in the Kirk/Giannoulias Meet The Press debate on October 10th.
Rather, I am writing to tell you that LeAlan Jones, who is demanding to be on the program, is a complete moron who has no basis on which to run for United States Senator. Jones wrote to you and tried to play the race card. Jones is a jerk of the type we find all too many of in Illinois.
First, Jones can’t even write proper English. You would think that a letter as important to him as the one he sent to you would have proper grammar. Nope. He is the “only African/American running this (sic)…”
Second, senate seats are not “historically” white or black. Appeals to racial prejudice are embarrassing.
Finally, Jones’ candidacy is a joke and a fluke. The Green Party enjoys no public support in Illinois. Illinois has a weird system of elections (rotten and corrupt through and through) in which any party with a gubernatorial candidate that receives 5% of the vote is automatically on the ballot four years later.
In 2006, Judy Topinka, a complete disgrace to the Republican Party, and the infamous Rod Blagojevich, were running against each other. Voters were outraged and disgusted and voted “Green” out of protest, not party affiliation.
This election cycle Jones slipped on the ballot without any meaningful scrutiny (the entire party slate is automatically placed on the ballot, not just the gubernatorial candidate).
The final and most devastating reason why Jones is a joke?
Yesterday I was checking with the U. S. Senate as to who has filed FEC Form 2’s with the Senate. You file a Form 2 once you spend and/or receive five thousand dollars ($5,000) as a federal candidate.
Mr. Jones has yet to file a Form 2.
Jones is a race-baiting clown who deserves no attention and no respect as a candidate. A candidate for U. S. Senator who can't even comply with federal law and file a Form 2 is a joke candifate. In other words, Jones is either violating federal law by failing to file a Form 2, or he hasn’t spent and/or received a total of $5,000. Some Green Party candidate.
The only reason to put Jones on TV would be to show he can make an ass out of himself. But then you would be accused of anti-Black prejudice for showcasing a clown like Jones.
Enough said.
In closing, full disclosure mandates that I should point out that Jones’ proxies, led by the Green Party attorney and a shill “objector,” Rob Sherman, attacked my candidacy last summer. They were obviously trying to support Jones by harassing his opponents. Sherman is a complete clown who brags about getting his car washed at sex washes. Both Rob Sherman and LeAlan Jones belong in a straightjacket. In one election cycle, Greens have gone from outsiders to being as slimy and noxious as the Republicans and Democrats in this state. Now that’s some accomplishment!
If, on the other hand, you want to invite me to join Markie and Alexi on Meet the Press, I would probably show up the Kirkster and the Jokester. At least I understand television and could help make the program electrifying.
We are just getting our campaign up and running. I am committed to staying in the race to defeat Mark Kirk, the “Closeted Congressman” who was for the Republican Party before he was against it.

Jones is a race-baiting clown who deserves no attention and no respect as a candidate. A candidate for U. S. Senator who can't even comply with federal law and file a Form 2 is a joke candifate. In other words, Jones is either violating federal law by failing to file a Form 2, or he hasn’t spent and/or received a total of $5,000. Some Green Party candidate.
The only reason to put Jones on TV would be to show he can make an ass out of himself. But then you would be accused of anti-Black prejudice for showcasing a clown like Jones.

In closing, full disclosure mandates that I should point out that Jones’ proxies, led by the Green Party attorney and a shill “objector,” Rob Sherman, attacked my candidacy last summer. They were obviously trying to support Jones by harassing his opponents. Sherman is a complete clown who brags about getting his car washed at sex washes. Both Rob Sherman and LeAlan Jones belong in a straightjacket. In one election cycle, Greens have gone from outsiders to being as slimy and noxious as the Republicans and Democrats in this state. Now that’s some accomplishment!

Appellant is a legally qualified candidate for federal office (see attached). Legal status as a candidate is conferred by federal law, not by state election statutes.
Andrew Heffernan is a Republican Party shill. The Heffernan name pops up in court as a proxy used by Republican State Chairman Pat Brady (a former federal lawyer who should know better himself), Brien Sheahan ("General Counsel" for the Illinois Republican Party), and John Fogarty, Jr., a Republican factotum. Heffernan is a “party” to this litigation in “name only.”
On September 20th the ultimate absurdity and fraud of the Republican Party was exposed in circuit court.
Mr. Sheahan appeared and claimed he had “not been served” with the circuit court proceedings. The reason Sheahan had not been served was because the Election Code mandates service on the objector, not the attorney. Circuit court review is treated as an independent level of litigation.
In other words, Sheahan confessed he was not communicating with his “client” but that he was nevertheless there to “represent” someone who is not even remotely his bona fide client.
The terms of a bona fide attorney/client relationship are well known to this Court. They involve, at a minimum, client meetings, payment of fees, a written retainer agreement and appearances in court. On information and belief Heffernan satisfies none of these criteria.
Given that Heffernan did not authorize his attorney to appear in court on September 20th, and that Heffernan himself defaulted and did not appear, Appellant asks this Court to declare that Heffernan is not a party on appeal and that Sheahan and Fogarty may not further represent straw parties with whom they do not enjoy a documented bona fide attorney/client relationship.
There is a further criminal dimension to this controversy. Federal courts have been somewhat lax with their supervision of state elections for state offices. But elections for federal office are conducted under federal, not state, law even though the mechanics are conducted by the several states.
Federal law requires full disclosure, and bars both surreptitious receipts and expenditures by candidates or persons supporting or opposing federal candidates. What Messrs. Heffernan, Brady, Sheahan and Fogarty have been doing appears to amount to federal criminal activity, because it is designed to defraud both the State Board of Elections and the Illinois state courts as to who is really importuning, promoting and maintaining election litigation, see United States v. Mariani, 212 F.Supp.2d 361, 373-379 (M.D. Pa. 2002).
No court should tolerate lying and misrepresentation by officers of the Court concerning the true nature of who is paying counsel fees and who is trumping up lawsuits. Proxy parties are unlawful unless full disclosure is made to the tribunal.
It is regrettable that this is the first instance and first intermediate appellate court in Illinois that has now been asked to put an end to proxy litigation being orchestrated and paid for by the Illinois Republican Party (or by the Democratic party for that matter). But, better late than never, the issue is now sub judice.
Most respectfully, this Court is asked to enter an order awarding both Appellant and the appearance of justice in the judicial system appropriate relief.

Senate candidate Andy Martin, whose “Bunker Buster” news conferences and political advertising earlier this year opened the door for national media to destroy the political career of Closeted Congressman Mark Kirk, will launch new attacks Tuesday on Kirk and the corrupt leadership cadre of the Illinois Republican Party.
On Saturday, Martin helped trigger massive demonstrations against Glenn Beck’s presence in Illinois on behalf of Pat Brady and other corrupt Republicans.
“There is a massive disconnect between ‘Illinois Republicans’ and the Illinois Republican Party,” Martin says. “Most Illinoisans who vote Republican are honest, hard-working, God-fearing citizens. They are pretty good conservatives. But the management of the ‘Illinois Republican Party’ is nothing but a bunch of crooks, led by Pat Brady and his sleazy staff, including legal masquerader Brien Sheahan.”
Brien Sheahan is the DuPage County Republican factotum who was engaged in a scandalous sexual relationship with a married Republican official; Sheahan reportedly got married recently to deflect rumors that he is gay.
“Most Republicans do not realize that when they contribute their precious, hard-earned money to the Illinois Republican Party, Pat Brady is siphoning off that cash to pay Brien Sheahan $35,000 a year for serving as ‘General Counsel,’” Martin notes. “John Fogarty, Jr. also profits from cash which contributors believe will be used to fight Democrats. Brady, Sheahan and Fogarty are looting the Republican Party for their own political and personal enrichment. The rest of the office staff of the Party is not much better, if at all.
“I am working on behalf of good Republicans, not the crooked cabal of ‘Republicans’ that is part of the bipartisan ‘Combine of corruption’ in Illinois politics.
“Monday Mr. Sheahan was caught in a lie, in open court, on a transcript. Sheahan told Circuit Judge Robert Bertucci that Sheahan had ‘not been served’ with Martin’s appellate materials. As required by state law, I was serving Sheahan’s ‘client,’ not Sheahan personally. Sheahan didn’t even know what the statute required. Sheahan’s confession was recorded on tape as well as being taken down by a court reporter.

(CHICAGO)(September 21, 2010) Illinois Reform Party U. S. Senate candidate Andy Martin, whose “Bunker Buster” news conferences and political advertising earlier this year opened the door for national media to destroy the political career of Closeted Congressman Mark Kirk, will launch new attacks Tuesday on Kirk and the corrupt leadership cadre of the Illinois Republican Party.
On Saturday, Martin helped trigger massive demonstrations against Glenn Beck’s presence in Illinois on behalf of Pat Brady and other corrupt Republicans.
“There is a massive disconnect between ‘Illinois Republicans’ and the Illinois Republican Party,” Martin says. “Most Illinoisans who vote Republican are honest, hard-working, God-fearing citizens. They are pretty good conservatives. But the management of the ‘Illinois Republican Party’ is nothing but a bunch of crooks, led by Pat Brady and his sleazy staff, including legal masquerader Brien Sheahan.”
Brien Sheahan is the DuPage County Republican factotum who was engaged in a scandalous sexual relationship with a married Republican official; Sheahan reportedly got married recently to deflect rumors that he is gay.
“Most Republicans do not realize that when they contribute their precious, hard-earned money to the Illinois Republican Party, Pat Brady is siphoning off that cash to pay Brien Sheahan $35,000 a year for serving as ‘General Counsel,’” Martin notes. “John Fogarty, Jr. also profits from cash which contributors believe will be used to fight Democrats. Brady, Sheahan and Fogarty are looting the Republican Party for their own political and personal enrichment. The rest of the office staff of the Party is not much better, if at all.
“I am working on behalf of good Republicans, not the crooked cabal of ‘Republicans’ that is part of the bipartisan ‘Combine of corruption’ in Illinois politics.
“Monday Mr. Sheahan was caught in a lie, in open court, on a transcript. Sheahan told Circuit Judge Robert Bertucci that Sheahan had ‘not been served’ with Martin’s appellate materials. As required by state law, I was serving Sheahan’s ‘client,’ not Sheahan personally. Sheahan didn’t even know what the statute required. Sheahan’s confession was recorded on tape as well as being taken down by a court reporter.
“We now have conclusive evidence that Andrew Heffernan, who faces federal prison because of his fraudulent election affidavits and blatant perjury before the Illinois State Board of Elections, no longer communicates with Sheahan and Fogarty. Heffernan has belatedly realized that he is being used as a ‘chumbolone’ by the higher-ups in the Illinois Republican Party. Heffernan is committing the actual crimes, by lying abut his relationship to Sheahan and Fogarty as well as by lying about Heffernan’s real role as a stooge ‘objector’ for Illinois Republican Party leaders.
“What was the General Counsel of the Illinois Republican Party doing in court Monday claiming to act as the ‘attorney’ for someone who is supposed to be an independent ‘citizen objector?’ Obviously, Heffernan now realizes he has been used, and he could go to jail, while Sheahan collects $35,000 a year from the Republican Party for doing nothing. It is sleazy.
“But the real majordomo of sleaze in Illinois Republican circles is Mark Kirk, the ‘Closeted Congressman’ who is famous in Chicago’s ‘Boys Town’ for his escapades as a ‘gay blade’ in that neighborhood.
“Last year I told Pat Brady if he ran a crooked primary on behalf of Kirk, he and Kirk would pay for it this November. Brady ran a crooked primary, and they will be paying for it between now and November 2nd. Tuesday we drop the first ‘Bunker Buster.’ There are plenty more to come,” Martin says. “And the great thing: all of my evidence and accusations are truthful. I have a proven track record of breaking news and telling the truth about Kirk. Mark Kirk, on the other hand, uses lies to promote himself; I am using the truth to demote him.”

ANDY MARTIN: Judge sets injunction hearing in Illinois vote fraud lawsuit
A Sangamon County Circuit Judge has set a July 23rd emergency injunction hearing on a vote fraud lawsuit filed by Illinois corruption fighter Andy Martin. Martin’s lawsuit seeks to end the practice by Illinois politicians of using “straw men” and corrupt attorneys to file “objections” to candidate petitions while concealing the identity of the person actually orchestrating the objection process and paying the legal bills. Martin will be filing an amended complaint Monday adding Du Page County sex fiend Brien Sheahan as a defendant. “I am fighting for the people of Illinois,” Martin says. “I am fighting for the right to run for office without sleazy lawyers filing fraudulent claims on behalf of straw men who represent hidden political interests. I will be in court on July 23rd to fight for clean politics in Illinois. Illinois is ready for reform.” The State Board of Elections held some sort of secret hearing on Martin’s candidacy. Martin is also challenging the SBE’s lack of notice and improper procedures as applied to federal candidates. Martin is adding SBE official Philip Krasny to the suit as a defendant as a result of Krasny’s secret hearing.

(CHICAGO)(February, 2010) Republican U. S. Senate candidate Andy Martin will hold a Chicago news conference Thursday, February 4th to announce he will not support, and will work to defeat, Mark Kirk for U. S. Senator.
"Mark Kirk is a fundamentally immoral individual,” Martin will charge. "He worked to cover-up pedophilia in the U. S House of Representatives and tried to get pedophile Mark Foley to run for reelection. I find Kirk’s behavior sickening.
“Kirk shamelessly lies about and inflates his military record. Kirk’s military falsifications and exaggerations were an issue late in the primary. My advertising attacking Kirk’s abuse of the U.S. Navy uniform was later picked up by a reporter.
“I will continue my Freedom of Information activity to seek the release of Kirk’s hidden military files. There is nothing more despicable than a fraud such as Kirk who seeks to falsify his military service and ‘rip off’ the valor of our men and women in uniform. Kirk is a sick, sick man.
“Kirk should be criminally prosecuted for his military abuses and falsifications.
“The slimy Illinois news media have been Kirk’s accomplices in spreading Kirk’s bogus military claims. In one utterly absurd example in January, Kirk issued a false press releases to the Associated Press, when then uncritically reported Kirk’s lies. Kirk then printed the AP’s lies on his own campaign literature, in effect laundering his lies through the Associated Press. This is journalism? I have posted the U. S. Navy’s response to my earlier FOIA request, in which the Navy could find no records to confirm Kirk’s claim that he ‘served’ in Kandahar, Afghanistan in 2008. [See www.markKirk.us]
“In reality and practicality Kirk has been a visiting congressman who tried to collect a second salary by falsely claiming he was doing ‘double duty.’
“In endorsing Mark Kirk, left-wing Sun-Times columnist Neil Steinberg called Kirk a ‘new Dick Durbin’ and Richard Daley’s favorite Republican. Is this what Republicans really want? Another Durbin? A Daley Republican? Is Kirk part of the corrupt bipartisan Combine, or what?
“Finally, Kirk bribed the Republican Party with $50,000 in cash to rig the primary in his favor. The ‘election’ was a travesty. Cash-and-carry democracy is not democracy at all. It is Washington Beltway corruption and control of our local electoral process. Kirk used the Republican Party’s apparatus as his own campaign machinery. When a primary is rigged, the candidates that emerge from that process are not entitled to party loyalty.
“I will not support Kirk. I will work to defeat Mark Kirk. He is a fundamentally immoral individual.
“I plan to support all of the other members of the Illinois Republican ticket.”

To all of you who voted for me, supported me and encouraged me in the primary I am deeply appreciative. Thank you.
You are probably wondering what happened in the election yesterday. The usual blather from the liberal media conceals, not reveals, the truth. I was the big winner. The corrupt bipartisan “Combine” and the so-called “conservative” wing of the Republican Party were both big losers. Surprised at my conclusions? Let me explain. After a little reflection I think you’ll agree with my analysis.
First, let me take you behind the scenes of my own campaign.
I. Andy’s team prepares to run a primary campaign
The biggest problem we faced during the campaign was a corrupt Republican Party leadership that was trying to rig the primary for Mark Kirk. Beginning on August 20th the resident thug Randy Pollard refused to let me speak at Republican Day in Springfield. The adulterous “legal counsel” of the party, Brian Sheahan, tried to harass me at the State Fair. On and on it went. A circuit judge had to order them to stop harassing me.
In preparing an advertising campaign, we faced a major problem. Because of the large number of anti-Kirk candidates (5), we felt that any ads we ran could help the other candidates as much as my ads helped me. I don’t know if Kirk “salted” candidates in the primary to split up the opposing vote but it sure looks that way. But even if all of the other four candidates were genuine, they were dividing the Kirk opposition vote five ways. Not good for me.
Finally, in mid-December we reached the moment of truth. If we ran no ads, or only generic ads, their impact would be limited. If we ran hard-hitting ads, they might damage Kirk but benefit all of his opponents.
Negative ads work best in a two-person race. If you hammer your opponent successfully, voters switch to you because there is nowhere else to go. If you hammer one of five candidates, people may decide to vote against the target candidate but then support one of the other opponents. We took the risk of running hard-hitting ads because only aggressive anti-Kirk ads could break through the media fog of unabashed support for the Kirkster. In other words, we ran hard-hitting ads because practically speaking we had no other option but to take the risk of helping Kirk’s other opponents as well.
II. Andy’s ads start hitting Kirk with the truth
On December 28th we began bombarding Kirk with the truth. Pat Brady immediately tried to smear me. As he did through the campaign, Brady was actually working against Kirk’s interests. During the next month we exposed Kirk as both a personal and political fraud. Kirk did nothing while a pedophile, Mark Foley, roamed the House of Representatives importuning the children who work there as pages. Kirk was part of the pedophilia cover-up.
Kirk shamelessly inflates his military credentials. We exposed his fraudulent military claims. Each of my commercials was meticulously documented. We exploded the false image of Kirk that the media were feeding Republican voters.
Unfortunately for me, the attacks on Kirk also energized his other opponents to think they had a chance of winning the primary. One candidate attacked my ads publicly and then used Paul Caprio to distribute the same material privately. My ads took Kirk down from what might have been a blowout victory and dropped him into an embarrassing situation where almost half of the Republican Party’s primary base voted against him.
III. Is Kirk really a winner?
Half the primary electorate voted against Kirk despite media claims that his opponents lacked the resources to run an effective campaign. So, if your five opponents lack any money, and only one of them runs broadcast ads on a limited basis (me,) and the rest run no ads or virtually no ads (Hughes) how can that farcical imbalance be deemed an electoral victory?
“Winners” emerge from real contests, not from lopsided and rigged campaigns where everything is fixed in advance and half the voters still reject the favorite. Kirk was a big loser on February 2d. Don’t believe the media and the Pat Brady-inspired lies to the contrary.
IV. Republicans saw a similar situation in the gubernatorial primary
The same thing that happened to me, where my advertising either benefited or encouraged other candidates, also happened in the Republican gubernatorial primary. Senator Bill Brady lacked the money to run ads in the Chicago TV market. In the closing days of the primary, Andy McKenna began to run ads attacking Kirk Dillard for his 2008 support of Barack Obama.
Although McKenna was trying to knock off Dillard so McKenna himself would win, McKenna was not strong enough to reach the top. Instead, McKenna’s attacks on Dillard appear to have had the unintended consequence of nominating Bill Brady.
That’s what happens when you run attack ads in a multi-primary candidate. Your ads could end up benefiting someone other than yourself. In the governor’s race, it is clear that McKenna’s attacks were the little extra needed to cut down Dillard so Brady could eke out a victory. I am sure that is not the outcome McKenna wanted.
V. So-called “pro-family” conservatives became a laughingstock
Patrick Hughes hired Paul Caprio to “bag” endorsements for his flatulent senatorial candidacy. Caprio created the bogus “STOP” campaign as a fig leaf to promote Hughes. Christian conservatives were invited in August to attend a “screening” meeting that Caprio had rigged in advance in favor of Hughes. From the first day he announced, when he claimed he had $400,000 in "commitments,” Pat Hughes was a liar and a loser.
In the closing days of the primary Hughes was shoveling conservative “endorsements” out the door. Mark Levin, Laura Ingraham, Conservative “this” and Conservative “that.” In the end he had a long list of “endorsements” but none of them actually campaigned for him. On Election Day he could not break 20%. Hughes will go down in history as the man that blew a half million dollars without ever running a single broadcast ad. But his chauffeur was paid $10,000.
Now Hughes is supporting “party unity” and, no surprise, Paul Caprio has his palm out to be greased again. And they call themselves Christians. The “pro-family” movement was exposed as a bunch of incompetent, conspiratorial blowhards. Jack Roeser, who funds almost all of these weenies, lost three out of four campaigns and attacked the only genuine conservative who ran an honest campaign (me). Roeser is another imperious joker.
VI. Where do I go from here?
I will be taking time off and going on vacation. Lots of things get put on hold when you become involved in a statewide race.
I was interviewed in December by NBC News for a special program to air on MSNBC in March. I still can’t tell you what the program is about, because they were never clear, but no doubt I will continue to be a national figure in the anti-Obama movement.
I have blocked out ten days in April to return to Hawai’i to do continuing research on Barack Obama’s origins. I don’t yet know if the sponsorship for the trip will be available.
Locally, before I leave I plan to announce an anti-Mark Kirk effort. Kirk and his supporter Pat Brady ran a dirty campaign and they will not receive my support. I urged Brady to stop the dirty tricks, so the party could unite after the primary. Brady refused. The party will not unite. By comparison, the Democrats that voted for various U. S. Senate candidates will all support the winner.
In the Republican Party, the Republicans who voted against Kirk in the primary will not support him in the general election. Had Brady run a fair and honest primary, I was prepared to support the winner of the primary, as I have in the past. But because Brady is just as crooked as the rest of the sleazy people in the Republican Party’s leadership, Brady has forfeited party unity.
Summing up, the bipartisan “Combine” of corruption was a big loser. The candidates closest to the Combine did not win yesterday. And instead of having a gubernatorial winner, Republicans temporarily have two “winners” who are going to have to fight it out until one of them is acknowledged as the undisputed nominee. Not good. No one has and idea how long that could go on.
In the senate race, because Pat Brady ran a dirty campaign and poisoned the process, he has a candidate, Kirk, who is popular with the media but who was rejected by almost half of the Republican base. To me, that rejection is not a good sign. Kirk may have drawn Quislings like Pat Hughes and John Arrington to his “unity” breakfast on Wednesday, but neither of them has much to offer a statewide campaign. There is no unity when half the candidates refuse to appear with the “winner.” As Kirk’s homosexual Praetorian Guard takes working control of the Republican Party the “rumors” about Kirk will become shriller and more insistent.
As for me, with the limited resources available to my campaign we did a good job of telling the truth about Mark Kirk and stopping the media from completely stealing the senate primary. I feel good about my efforts. That’s why I believe I am a big winner. I live to fight another day for truth, justice and the American way.

Dear Republican:
Now it’s up to you. Please vote. We need every vote. We need the votes of your family and friends. Just two years ago in the U. S. Senate primary I received nearly a quarter of a million votes (240,548). That was a presidential year when turnouts are traditionally higher. But if we could get everyone who voted for me in 2008 to vote for me in 2010, we could win the U. S. Senate nomination and change the politics of this state.
Monday we completed a 700-mile trip across the State of Illinois. We met with both media and ordinary citizens. The response from local Republicans was always enthusiastic.
All of the Republican senate candidates have adopted roughly similar platforms. All of them claim to oppose gun control. All of them claim to oppose abortion. One candidate calls himself as “Reagan conservative.” Puuuulease. All of us are Reagan conservatives. No candidate has a monopoly on President Reagan.
So why vote for me?
In one word: passion.
As campaigns wear on, candidate stock speeches often get stale. But I don’t have a stock speech. Every speech I give every day is new, fresh, original.
My opponents look at politics as a vocation, a business, a profit-making venture. I consider the opportunity for public service a call to arms, a call to action, a call to passion.
Ever since I began fighting local corruption as a young law student at the University of Illinois, my passion for corruption-fighting and for public integrity has distinguished me from my competitors. Over forty years ago a background check found that I was a leading conservative and a staunch opponent of the New Left. No other "conservative" Republican has my forty-year record to offer you as a starting point for service in the U. S. Senate.
Most candidates go through the motions with little emotional investment in the outcome. Voters want “jobs?” They discuss jobs. They deliver what the public appears to want. They use polls to test their responses.
I don’t need a poll to tell me our nation is under attack; our values, our way of life, our economic system are under attack from Democrats in Washington and Springfield. I see Illinois cities hurting. I see politicians profiting while the people are impoverished. I see Illinois futures dying and children leaving.
I promise you a passionate defense of American values. I promise you a passionate attack on the economic problems that confront Illinois. My plan to use high-speed passenger rail development to jump start economic development is a commitment I believe in.
Over thirty years ago my passion for the people of Rockford and Winnebago led me to answer a call to help local residents fight for better transportation. We went to the Governor’s office to protest cuts in Highway 51. I proposed we create a new Interstate highway. My efforts culminated in the construction of Interstate 39.
Yesterday I drove on I-39. My concept had been turned into concrete. My dreams had been realized. I saw an incredible stream of trucks carrying commerce across the state. How would we have accomplished the same goals if the opponents of I-39 had succeeded? My passion carried the day. Today the highway I helped create delivers the goods.
Now I have to ask for some of your passion. The forces of corruption and inertia are in control of both political parties. Politicians become more and more powerful as our state teeters on the brink of bankruptcy. I need your passion, your commitment, your energy to vote for me.
Please vote for real change, not hollow promises. Please vote for a proven champion who has delivered real results. Please vote for the future of today’s children and grandchildren. We cannot fail. We cannot tire. We must succeed to save Illinois from the forces of corruption and calamity.
Together we can succeed. Together we can build high-speed rail into a major new economic engine of this state. Together we can preserve our home towns and expand economic prosperity to every corner of this state. Together.
I am ready to serve you in Washington.
So vote. Please vote for our future. Vote for a better and brighter future. Vote for the future of this great state of Illinois. I need your vote.
My pledge is a simple one. To follow God’s plan for us. The Prophet Micah (6:8) says that we must “do justice, love mercy and walk humbly with your God.” That is my promise to you.

Dear Republican:
Now it’s up to you. Please vote. We need every vote. We need the votes of your family and friends. Just two years ago in the U. S. Senate primary I received nearly a quarter of a million votes (240,548). That was a presidential year when turnouts are traditionally higher. But if we could get everyone who voted for me in 2008 to vote for me in 2010, we could win the U. S. Senate nomination and change the politics of this state.
Monday we completed a 700-mile trip across the State of Illinois. We met with both media and ordinary citizens. The response from local Republicans was always enthusiastic.
All of the Republican senate candidates have adopted roughly similar platforms. All of them claim to oppose gun control. All of them claim to oppose abortion. One candidate calls himself as “Reagan conservative.” Puuuulease. All of us are Reagan conservatives. No candidate has a monopoly on President Reagan.
So why vote for me?
In one word: passion.
As campaigns wear on, candidate stock speeches often get stale. But I don’t have a stock speech. Every speech I give every day is new, fresh, original.
My opponents look at politics as a vocation, a business, a profit-making venture. I consider the opportunity for public service a call to arms, a call to action, a call to passion.
Ever since I began fighting local corruption as a young law student at the University of Illinois, my passion for corruption-fighting and for public integrity has distinguished me from my competitors. Over forty years ago a background check found that I was a leading conservative and a staunch opponent of the New Left. No other "conservative" Republican has my forty-year record to offer you as a starting point for service in the U. S. Senate.
Most candidates go through the motions with little emotional investment in the outcome. Voters want “jobs?” They discuss jobs. They deliver what the public appears to want. They use polls to test their responses.
I don’t need a poll to tell me our nation is under attack; our values, our way of life, our economic system are under attack from Democrats in Washington and Springfield. I see Illinois cities hurting. I see politicians profiting while the people are impoverished. I see Illinois futures dying and children leaving.
I promise you a passionate defense of American values. I promise you a passionate attack on the economic problems that confront Illinois. My plan to use high-speed passenger rail development to jump start economic development is a commitment I believe in.
Over thirty years ago my passion for the people of Rockford and Winnebago led me to answer a call to help local residents fight for better transportation. We went to the Governor’s office to protest cuts in Highway 51. I proposed we create a new Interstate highway. My efforts culminated in the construction of Interstate 39.
Yesterday I drove on I-39. My concept had been turned into concrete. My dreams had been realized. I saw an incredible stream of trucks carrying commerce across the state. How would we have accomplished the same goals if the opponents of I-39 had succeeded? My passion carried the day. Today the highway I helped create delivers the goods.
Now I have to ask for some of your passion. The forces of corruption and inertia are in control of both political parties. Politicians become more and more powerful as our state teeters on the brink of bankruptcy. I need your passion, your commitment, your energy to vote for me.
Please vote for real change, not hollow promises. Please vote for a proven champion who has delivered real results. Please vote for the future of today’s children and grandchildren. We cannot fail. We cannot tire. We must succeed to save Illinois from the forces of corruption and calamity.
Together we can succeed. Together we can build high-speed rail into a major new economic engine of this state. Together we can preserve our home towns and expand economic prosperity to every corner of this state. Together.
I am ready to serve you in Washington.
So vote. Please vote for our future. Vote for a better and brighter future. Vote for the future of this great state of Illinois. I need your vote.
My pledge is a simple one. To follow God’s plan for us. The Prophet Micah (6:8) says that we must “do justice, love mercy and walk humbly with your God.” That is my promise to you.

Senate candidate Andy Martin will hold a Belvidere (Boone County) news conference Sunday, January 31st to promise that he will lead a “Rockford Rail Revolution” when he becomes United States Senator. Martin says that Boone-Winnebago-Stephenson leaders have failed abysmally.
At his news conference Martin will brandish “studies” from as long as ten years ago to show the complete impotence of local representatives of both parties to move forward with rail service.
“Boone-Winnebago-Stephenson Counties have lacked an effective voice in the U. S. Senate. Dick Durbin has proven to be totally ineffective, even with his pet rock in the White House,” Martin says. “Pat Quinn? Don’t ask. If I had been in Washington the Boone-Winnebago-Stephenson area would not have been shut out of stimulus funding and high-speed rail cash. No one is going to run over me.
“I favor a ‘Manhattan Project’-style simultaneous design and build high-speed rail program to get America moving and get Illinois ‘on the right track, not the side track.’ Trains in staid Great Britain already go 200 miles an hour. Why should Americans be satisfied with less than half that, a decade from now?
“Governor Quinn’s face-saving promise Saturday to deliver Illinois capital funds for rail service is only a desperate, last-minute pre-primary device to stave off the embarrassment of having failed to deliver for Illinois.
“I believe that high-speed rail can only come through Belvidere to Rockford and Freeport. We want to connect an existing corridor of economic activity that can benefit from high-speed connections to the O’Hare and Chicago economies. We need to integrate Rockford Airport into the Chicago regional economy. What is in Genoa?
“Three decades ago I spearheaded the effort to upgrade Highway 51 into an Interstate highway. I have proven I can produce results. Illinois is falling further and behind other states. Senate candidate and insurgent “Internet Powerhouse” Andy Martin will hold a Chicago news conference Saturday, January 30th to ridicule Patrick Hughes’ latest request that other candidates withdraw in favor of Hughes. Martin will counter that Hughes has run a “disgraceful and dishonorable” campaign and should himself withdraw.
“From the first day Hughes announced, Patrick Hughes has been lying, dissembling, misrepresenting and exaggerating his resources to Illinois Republicans,” Martin will state. “Having offered Illinoisans and campaign contributors a pack of lies, it is Mr. Hughes himself who should withdraw.
“His campaign has now run out of cash without ever running any broadcast advertising.
“On August 20th when he announced as a candidate, Hughes said he had ‘commitments’ of $400,000. He never even raised a large fraction of that amount. At the gitgo, Hughes was lying. There were no ‘commitments.’
“Hughes spent six months exaggerating, and running a grossly incompetent campaign. Hughes had no money for broadcast advertising but found $10,000 in campaign cash for a personal chauffer:

“Hughes was the ‘imperial’ candidate, driving around the state with his chauffer while being unable to raise funds or rouse supporters.
“Hughes said Mike Ditka was on his Finance Committee. Ditka never served on any such committee. Hughes did manage to extort a lukewarm ‘endorsement’ out of Ditka after Ditka was embarrassed by his own confusion and malapropism.
“During the past few days, Hughes has cemented his status as one of the most dishonest candidates in Illinois political history. He falsely claimed that some Republican Party officials had endorsed him. They denied Hughes’ claim:

“Throughout Hughes six-month charade, so-called ‘pro-family’ poseurs have encouraged and endorsed Hughes after every embarrassment and disaster. But these so-called leaders never generated any significant financial support for Hughes.
“Hughes has been a world-class namedropper. He shamelessly drops the names of State House Republican leader Tom Cross and State Senator Kirk Dillard. He claimed that Richard Perle was his ‘adviser’ but Perle never appeared anywhere to confirm that fact. He claimed to have the endorsement of talk show hosts, but in one case that endorsement (Mark Levin) disappeared from the radio host’s web site. None of these people hosted a fundraiser or did anything commensurate with Hughes claims of ‘support and endorsement.’ The only person Hughes has not claimed an endorsement from Lady Gaga.
“Sadly, Hughes proved himself to be a complete chumbolone. Everyone took him to the cleaners. He hired a $10,000 ‘chauffer.’ He paid out tens of thousands of dollars in staff salaries. But he never aired a single broadcast ad. Instead, he ran a handful of cable TV advertisements as a face-saving gesture.
“Hughes promised Jack Roeser he would dump Paul Caprio, but failed to do so. Caprio collected another check from Hughes in the recent financial forms. Roeser’s own mascots, John Biver and Doug Ibendahl, have shamelessly promoted Hughes. For what?
“Illinois Review? The ‘Crossroads of the Chumbolone Community?’ The IR weenies have been in overdrive over Hughes.
“I am the only candidate who can stand up to Barack Obama. I am the only candidate who has stood up to the crooked Republican Party leadership in Illinois and exposed Mark Kirk as a military masquerader and worse.
“Unlike Hughes, who has been badgering his opponents to withdraw for months, with a conspicuous lack of success, I would never ask another candidate to withdraw.
“When this primary is over, the false prophets of the so-called pro-family movement need to do some deep soul-searching about their misguided role in the primary. They met in secret last summer to endorse Hughes, after cash changed hands. They took their Thirty Pieces of Silver and delivered their endorsements. Phyllis Schlafly did not even know she had endorsed Hughes, raising a cloud over her own mental competence to be a leader of Illinois voters from a residence in Missouri. I could go on, but you get the point.
“Hughes greased palms from Chicago to Washington, and it got him nothing but a lot of empty promises and hollow endorsements.
“We still have time to unify against Kirk, and to work on a united basis against the Democrats. If voters want to join me, I am prepared to lead,” Martin will state. “Hughes is no leader. He proved to be the Sad Sack of the so-called pro-family movement.”

Dear Mr. Martin,
As leaders of many of the pro-family groups in this state, we want to thank you for your willingness to put your personal life on hold in order to run for Senate. We know it is a sacrifice and we are grateful to you for that.
We have a common purpose. We all love our country and our state and are concerned about the moral and fiscal chaos we’ve seen at home and in the nation’s capitol. We are certain your motivation to get in this race was to change that.
But we ask you now to consider doing something difficult in the best interest of the state and the nation. Patrick Hughes is the only conservative candidate who has enough support to beat the very liberal and well-funded Mark Kirk. Even if we can unite conservative voters in the state, it will still be an uphill battle. But it is certain that Mark Kirk will prevail if all current candidates remain in the race.
We implore you to drop out of the race and throw your support behind Patrick Hughes as soon as possible. We are asking Kathleen Thomas, Judge Don Lowery and John Arrington to do the same. As it stands now, we will be doomed to yet another Democratic victory in the fall if we don’t have a strong conservative candidate to face them in November. Voters will stay home if Mark Kirk wins.
If you will do this, we as family leaders in the state will remember your demonstration of selflessness in this race in the future.

(CHICAGO)(January 30, 2010) Republican U. S. Senate candidate and insurgent “Internet Powerhouse” Andy Martin will hold a Chicago news conference Saturday, January 30th to ridicule Patrick Hughes’ latest request that other candidates withdraw in favor of Hughes. Martin will counter that Hughes has run a “disgraceful and dishonorable” campaign and should himself withdraw.
“From the first day Hughes announced, Patrick Hughes has been lying, dissembling, misrepresenting and exaggerating his resources to Illinois Republicans,” Martin will state. “Having offered Illinoisans and campaign contributors a pack of lies, it is Mr. Hughes himself who should withdraw.
“His campaign has now run out of cash without ever running any broadcast advertising.
“On August 20th when he announced as a candidate, Hughes said he had ‘commitments’ of $400,000. He never even raised a large fraction of that amount. At the gitgo, Hughes was lying. There were no ‘commitments.’
“Hughes spent six months exaggerating, and running a grossly incompetent campaign. Hughes had no money for broadcast advertising but found $10,000 in campaign cash for a personal chauffer:

“Hughes was the ‘imperial’ candidate, driving around the state with his chauffer while being unable to raise funds or rouse supporters.
“Hughes said Mike Ditka was on his Finance Committee. Ditka never served on any such committee. Hughes did manage to extort a lukewarm ‘endorsement’ out of Ditka after Ditka was embarrassed by his own confusion and malapropism.
“During the past few days, Hughes has cemented his status as one of the most dishonest candidates in Illinois political history. He falsely claimed that some Republican Party officials had endorsed him. They denied Hughes’ claim:

“Throughout Hughes six-month charade, so-called ‘pro-family’ poseurs have encouraged and endorsed Hughes after every embarrassment and disaster. But these so-called leaders never generated any significant financial support for Hughes.
“Hughes has been a world-class namedropper. He shamelessly drops the names of State House Republican leader Tom Cross and State Senator Kirk Dillard. He claimed that Richard Perle was his ‘adviser’ but Perle never appeared anywhere to confirm that fact. He claimed to have the endorsement of talk show hosts, but in one case that endorsement (Mark Levin) disappeared from the radio host’s web site. None of these people hosted a fundraiser or did anything commensurate with Hughes claims of ‘support and endorsement.’ The only person Hughes has not claimed an endorsement from Lady Gaga.
“Sadly, Hughes proved himself to be a complete chumbolone. Everyone took him to the cleaners. He hired a $10,000 ‘chauffer.’ He paid out tens of thousands of dollars in staff salaries. But he never aired a single broadcast ad. Instead, he ran a handful of cable TV advertisements as a face-saving gesture.
“Hughes promised Jack Roeser he would dump Paul Caprio, but failed to do so. Caprio collected another check from Hughes in the recent financial forms. Roeser’s own mascots, John Biver and Doug Ibendahl, have shamelessly promoted Hughes. For what?
“Illinois Review? The ‘Crossroads of the Chumbolone Community?’ The IR weenies have been in overdrive over Hughes.
“I am the only candidate who can stand up to Barack Obama. I am the only candidate who has stood up to the crooked Republican Party leadership in Illinois and exposed Mark Kirk as a military masquerader and worse.
“Unlike Hughes, who has been badgering his opponents to withdraw for months, with a conspicuous lack of success, I would never ask another candidate to withdraw.
“When this primary is over, the false prophets of the so-called pro-family movement need to do some deep soul-searching about their misguided role in the primary. They met in secret last summer to endorse Hughes, after cash changed hands. They took their Thirty Pieces of Silver and delivered their endorsements. Phyllis Schlafly did not even know she had endorsed Hughes, raising a cloud over her own mental competence to be a leader of Illinois voters from a residence in Missouri. I could go on, but you get the point.
“Hughes greased palms from Chicago to Washington, and it got him nothing but a lot of empty promises and hollow endorsements.
“We still have time to unify against Kirk, and to work on a united basis against the Democrats. If voters want to join me, I am prepared to lead,” Martin will state. “Hughes is no leader. He proved to be the Sad Sack of the so-called pro-family movement.”

As leaders of many of the pro-family groups in this state, we want to thank you for your willingness to put your personal life on hold in order to run for Senate. We know it is a sacrifice and we are grateful to you for that.
We have a common purpose. We all love our country and our state and are concerned about the moral and fiscal chaos we’ve seen at home and in the nation’s capitol. We are certain your motivation to get in this race was to change that.
But we ask you now to consider doing something difficult in the best interest of the state and the nation. Patrick Hughes is the only conservative candidate who has enough support to beat the very liberal and well-funded Mark Kirk. Even if we can unite conservative voters in the state, it will still be an uphill battle. But it is certain that Mark Kirk will prevail if all current candidates remain in the race.
We implore you to drop out of the race and throw your support behind Patrick Hughes as soon as possible. We are asking Kathleen Thomas, Judge Don Lowery and John Arrington to do the same. As it stands now, we will be doomed to yet another Democratic victory in the fall if we don’t have a strong conservative candidate to face them in November. Voters will stay home if Mark Kirk wins.
If you will do this, we as family leaders in the state will remember your demonstration of selflessness in this race in the future.

“One of the disclosures that came out of the recent controversy about my advertising involving Mark Kirk’s private life was the unanimous declaration by homosexual activists and media that Mark Kirk was ‘their guy,’ Martin says. “Well, is Kirk the ‘guy’ of the gay lobby? Republican primary voters have a right to know. On the eve of the Illinois primary, Barry Obama has thrown down the gauntlet. I propose that we throw it right back at him. There is no need to change the ‘Don’t ask, don’t tell’ policy. The policy strikes an appropriate balance between the right to privacy and the right to military unit cohesion and decorum. The last thing we need to do in the middle of a war is invite the gay lobby to start filing discrimination lawsuits against our men and women in uniform. Recruitment will suffer. A lot of parents are not going to want to send their kids into a gay-orchestrated military environment.
“Likewise, Patrick Hughes has been afraid to tackle the controversy over gay rights. Well here is Hughes’ chance to tell his supporters where he stands.
“I challenge Kirk and every other Republican to tell Obama ‘No: do not repeal ‘Don’t ask, don’t tell.’’ I am sure the Associated Press reporter who covers Mark Kirk like a cheap blanket, Deanna Bellandi, can get the Kirkster on the phone. Let’s find out what the little critter has to say about his friend Obama’s latest ‘bomb.’ Let Kirk tell his admirers in the gay community he is against allowing gays to serve openly in the military.
“The issue is not homosexual rights. Homosexuals deserve the very same protection of the law as every other American. They are entitled to the same full protection of the law.
“Unlike Kirk, I do not have a military commission; but I do have an Honorable Discharge from the U. S. Air Force Reserves.
“But unlike Kirk, who fantasizes that he is the greatest ‘fighter’ since Genghis Khan, I have actually been in combat, in the jungle, and in many other precarious military situations. A war zone, a battlefield, a combat unit is no place for political correctness or sexual politics. Not even the kind of ‘fantasy’ war zones Kirk claims to be ‘fighting’ in.
“Obama is wrong. Conservative Republicans are right on this issue. Will Illinois Republicans stand up, despite the homosexual staff operating under State Chairman Pat Brady, with John McGovern acting as the Party’s de facto state executive director, and condemn repeal of ‘Don’t ask, don’t tell?’ I will pose that question Thursday evening in Effingham.
“Will Deanna Bellandi call Kirk to find out where he stands? Or is the Kirkster still in hiding? Republican primary voters want to know.”

U. S. Senate candidate Andy Martin will whistle-stop across eastern and central Illinois Thursday, January 28th campaigning in Chicago, Kankakee, Champaign, Mattoon and Effingham for his plan to build a “21st Century” high-speed passenger rail network. (CHICAGO)(January 28, 2010) Republican U. S. Senate candidate and insurgent “Internet Powerhouse” Andy Martin will hold a series of news conferences across eastern and central Illinois to slam Barack Obama for a “hy-speed” rail proposal that only marginally increases train speeds.
“Obama is proposing improvements to a 19th century system," Martin says. “We need a ‘Manhattan project’-style program to build a 21st century high-speed rail network in Illinois and parts of the Midwest.
“A 21st century high-speed rail plan would create hundreds of thousands of jobs. If we proceed on an emergency basis with a simultaneous ‘design and build’ approach, we can start building within months.
“What does high-quality high-speed rail cost in the long run? Zero. The added value to our economy, the added real estate values in communities along the high-speed rail network would pay for the system.
“Property in Kankakee would skyrocket if there was a high-speed train to the loop in thirty minutes. Champaign? One hour. People could commute from Champaign to Chicago. Mattoon and Effingham? One and a half hours. Carbondale? Two and a half hours. By comparison, Obama’s plan to spend billions on worthless improvements to a broken system would add little value to the economy. It’s typical Barry Obama: too little, too late, too timid. Thank God this guy is not Commander-in-Chief.

(CHICAGO)(January 28, 2010) Republican U. S. Senate candidate and insurgent “Internet Powerhouse” Andy Martin will hold a series of news conferences across eastern and central Illinois to slam Barack Obama for a “hy-speed” rail proposal that only marginally increases train speeds.
“Obama is proposing improvements to a 19th century system," Martin says. “We need a ‘Manhattan project’-style program to build a 21st century high-speed rail network in Illinois and parts of the Midwest.
“A 21st century high-speed rail plan would create hundreds of thousands of jobs. If we proceed on an emergency basis with a simultaneous ‘design and build’ approach, we can start building within months.
“What does high-quality high-speed rail cost in the long run? Zero. The added value to our economy, the added real estate values in communities along the high-speed rail network would pay for the system.
“Property in Kankakee would skyrocket if there was a high-speed train to the loop in thirty minutes. Champaign? One hour. People could commute from Champaign to Chicago. Mattoon and Effingham? One and a half hours. Carbondale? Two and a half hours. By comparison, Obama’s plan to spend billions on worthless improvements to a broken system would add little value to the economy. It’s typical Barry Obama: too little, too late, too timid. Thank God this guy is not Commander-in-Chief.

Martin says that conservative leaders are “playing with fire” by “playing along” with the doomed campaign of Patrick Hughes and other “vanity candidates.” Martin says that Mark Kirk, John McGovern and their associates will bury Illinois conservatives if Kirk wins the senate nomination.

“Channel 5 has become a virtual campaign headquarters for Kirk. They even show pictures of an unidentified woman in red with Kirk, the same type of woman in red I used to see on Mark Foley’s arm. It’s a scam, and the media are perpetrating the scam in conjunction with Kirk, John McGovern and the other Beltway hypocrites.
“Republican primary voters have one week to come their senses. A vote for one of my opponents is a vote for Kirk. A vote for Kirk is a vote to turn the Republican Party over to control of John McGovern and his homosexual operators. It’s that plain. These same individuals destroyed Dennis Hastert, sabotaged the Republican Party and turned Congress over to the Democrats in 2006.
