Did corrupt Illinois “Combine” Republicans elect Barack Obama president?

Andy Martin explains how his unsavory opponents may have inadvertently sent Barack Obama to the White House in 2008. The “Stop Andy” movement may have had unforeseen consequences.

U. S. Senate candidate Andy Martin speculates: did the “Stop Andy” movement in Illinois really elect Barack Obama?

Martin says the malicious efforts of Illinois Republicans to attack him may have allowed Obama to win in 2008

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Andy Martin explains how efforts of “Combine” Republicans in Illinois to defeat him may have inadvertently elected Barack Obama president

(CHICAGO)(September 7, 2009) Sometimes a complete idiot can disarmingly disclose an obvious truth. A couple of days ago an idiot attacked me on the “conservative” web site IllinoisReview.com. (“IR”) Although the column on IR was actually about the 2010 gubernatorial race in Illinois, out of the blue the rabid moron smeared me and my mother. Well, after almost half a century in Illinois politics I am used to being attacked.

Since I began exposing and opposing corruption by both Democrats and Republicans in the 1960’s, I have been disliked by the puppet masters in both parties. Sleazy Republicans and sleazy Democrats find common cause in attacking and harassing me. I’m someone who has proved with decades of integrity that I cannot be bought.

But in reading the recent ranting of the anonymous poster on IR [www.IllinoisReview.typepad.com], a moment of clarity emerged.

The “Stop Andy” movement in 2007 may have elected Barack Obama in 2008. You can thank crooked “Combine” Republicans in Illinois for the election of Obama.

Follow my reasoning.

The hard left in American politics (that is to say left-wing Democrats and the lunatic-fringe left in American politics) despises me because I wrote the first stories raising doubts about Barack Obama’s religion and family tree. Amazingly, recently a right-wing “Combine” Republican jerk attacked me on the “Chicago GOP” site for, yes, attacking Obama. (That’s why Illinois Republicans are doomed to wander in the wilderness.)

I began writing about Obama in 2004. By 2006 my questions about the mystery man with the Kenyan father were creating a national platform for my views.

My writing began to raise concerns in the Obama camp once Obama formally declared for president in 2007. Then, as now, I was searching for the truth and trying to find the facts about “Barry O.” Nothing more, nothing less. I was not grasping at bogus documents to file false lawsuits. I was merely digging for original public records. I still am. Obama is just as much of a mystery man in 2009 as he was in 2004.

Who is Obama? We still don’t know. He won’t even release the original 1961 copy of his Hawai’i birth certificate. Why not?

In 2007 I also became a candidate for the U. S. Senate.

The Illinois Republican Party was controlled and corrupted by a poor-little-rich-boy, Andy McKenna. McKenna disliked me because I had helped torpedo his own campaign for the senate in 2004. The McKenna family is closely aligned with the Daley Machine; McKenna has always been seen as an errand boy for the crooked “Combine” of Democrats and Republicans that controls Illinois politics.

At this point, the recent ranting of the IR “conservative” intersects with reality. He admitted there was a “Stop Andy” movement in 2007.

McKenna, in the words of the Illinois review "conservative," orchestrated a “Stop Andy” movement because McKenna was afraid I would win the Republican nomination for U. S. Senator; my candidacy would have then posed a serious threat to “Combine” incumbent U. S. Senator Dick Durbin. McKenna was absolutely correct in his fears. Had I won the primary, Durbin would have come under attack from my campaign.

McKenna schemed to nominate a Republican patsy for Durbin. Among the dirty tricks orchestrated by the State Central Committee of the Republican Party was a bogus “endorsement” for the “Republicans’” Durbin patsy. I narrowly lost the primary. The Republican patsy was never heard from again. Durbin won a landslide victory.

My research and writing about Obama continued in 2008. My http://www.contrariancommentary.com/ columns became a popular book, “Obama: The Man Behind The Mask.” I led the first research team to investigate Obama’s family history in Hawai’i.

And gradually, as the presidential race wore on, my national profile began to rise. Obama was frantic to undermine me. He put up his own patsy in the Washington Post, a woman who claimed she “researched” the “rumors” about Obama and “found” they led to me. In fact, I had never spread any rumors whatsoever about Obama; I had only been digging for the truth and trying to find the facts about him. Obama was trying just as hard to lie about his past.

Through the summer of 2008 David Axelrod and Obama’s inner circle became increasingly frantic. Obama was on the verge of overtaking the seemingly senile John McCain, who was running what seemed like an almost-patsy-style campaign as Obama’s opponent.

But a growing percentage of the American people were harboring increasing doubts about Obama’s past. My columns were fueling these doubts.

Sean Hannity invited me to be a guest on one of his programs:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=
UKSq2oJ0W1c&feature=related
[Click on Part Two for my segment]

Hannity’s program became the most controversial national TV show of the 2008 presidential race because of my presence. None of the other guests on Hannity's show elicited the left-wing reaction I did. The day after Hannity's program, the New York Times reported that liberals were in a frenzied mood and demanding my scalp. If Liberals and hard leftists were apoplectic, how could the Obama campaign ignore the significance of my appearance on Hannity? Or was Obama actually stoking the frenzied attacks on the media for not attacking me?

Obama’s operatives had already created a “dirty tricks” operation to harass me. They were filing bogus biographies on the Internet (soon to be a major lawsuit) and using leftist journalists to trash me in the national media. But the more the Obamabots smeared me, the more the American people believed the evidence I had assembled and wanted answers to the questions I had raised.

By default I became the leader of the national Republican Party’s anti-Obama Internet campaign. McCain had none of his own. It was then I became identified as the “Internet Powerhouse.”

During “commentary” session after a subsequent McCain/Obama debate on Long Island, Obama’s operative exploded with a furious attack on Hannity for having had me as a guest. I had become the focal point of the presidential race. Hannity and I had triggered a retaliatory firestorm. Rupert Murdock, Hannity’s boss and Fox News owner, who was already groveling at Obama’s feet, sent a munchkin out to smear me. Hannity did not come to my defense. Money talks.

But the power of my commentary and the cogency of my analysis endures. Last month (August, 2009), long after the presidential election, Hannity announced he would rebroadcast his program in which I had appeared. The program mysteriously disappeared.

Obama still fears me. Smart man that Kenyan-American.

But here is where we sum up and I draw what is sure to be yet another controversial conclusion. If Illinois Republicans had not sabotaged my campaign for the U. S. Senate in 2008, I would have won the nomination. Had I won the nomination, I would have continued my research and analysis of Obama’s past from a much higher platform, instead of having to build that national platform from scratch.

My views about Obama would have reached national television before Hannity’s program on October 5th.

And very likely we would have mobilized enough independent voters, by opening their eyes to the gaps in Obama’s resume, to narrowly elect the somnolent McCain president.

In other words, if Illinois Republicans had not opposed my candidacy, we might, just might have had enough momentum to successfully lead the charge against Barack Obama’s election.

You can thank sleazy “Combine” Republicans in Illinois for Obama’s presidency. I am sure Barry O thanks them every day.

In 2010, I am again a candidate for the U. S. Senate. For Obama’s former senate seat. What does Barack Obama fear most in the U. S. Senate? Andy Martin sitting in his former senate seat.

And what are Illinois Republicans again scheming to do? No surprise this time: “Stop Andy.” And who showed up to endorse my “Combine” opponent? Why semi-sentient Senator John McCain, of course.

Now you know the rest of the story.

And you know why every honest American should stand behind me and against the relentlessly corrupt Illinois Republican “Combine” Party. In 2008 Illinois Republicans elected Obama; in 2010 they are trying to block the election of the one candidate who would become Obama’s strongest opponent in the U. S. Senate.

Ain’t “democracy” wonderful?

[P.S. if you really, really want to stop Barack Obama, you know what to do: please make a generous contribution to my campaign. This time, maybe the American people will win. To donate go to http://www.andyforussenator.com/ or mail us a check.]

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

SENATE CANDIDATE ANDY MARTIN RECEIVES ENTHUSIASTIC SUPPORT FOR HIS CRITICISM OF SENATOR JOHN MCCAIN

ILLINOIS REPUBLICANS REJECT “BELTWAY ENDORSEMENTS” FOR MARK KIRK

(CHICAGO)(August 30, 2009) “The story behind the story of my criticism of John McCain is as interesting as the letter to McCain itself,” Andy Martin said Sunday. “Here is a sampling of positive support for my letter to McCain:

I totally agree. & I'm a staunch republican.
-----
I totally agree with your observations of McCain's behavior in 2008 & 2009 - it's time for him to go as it is nauseating how much he has been sucking up to Democrats since last years' defeat! Keep up the great work!
-----

This is excellent. I will be passing this around to many, many churches and religious organizations across the State. Keep one like that coming about once a week.
-----

“And, of course,” Martin continued, “some people did not like what I had to say; the truth stings:

Please remove me from your e-mail list...State Representative JoAnn Osmond and delegate for John McCain.

“What is the bottom line? Please consider four (4) points that my supporters feel are important.

“First, we are in this race to defeat Kirk. That is not an easy task. Kirk is disliked all across Illinois, but he is trying to lie his way into a primary win. He is an Obama stalking horse in the Republican Party. Obamicans are giving Kirk Beltway cash to defeat opposition from Illinois Republican Party primary voters.

“Second, Illinoisans are rejecting outside influence from Beltway insiders. In fact, Kirk’s ‘endorsements’ from Beltway bandits make my case precisely: Kirk is not the candidate of Illinois Republicans, he is the representative of the Beltway to Illinoisans. Kirk and his Washington backers have democracy backwards.

“Third, my campaign is the only credible statewide campaign with a chance of defeating Kirk. I am in second place, a strong second (which is why Kirk-Obama keep attacking me). Moving into first place will not be easy. Kirk has a lot of 'dirty dollars' to spend.

“We do not have the money we need. But we are the only campaign with the structure and order and credibility to catch Kirk by February 2nd, or to even spend campaign cash if we receive it. Period.

“Fourth, although we are going to run a tough campaign, we have always offered to run a fair campaign. My earlier letter to Chairman Pat Brady has not elicited a response. I asked Brady to run an honest campaign so everyone could feel there had been a fair fight and support the winner. Brady has not responded. Brady is an avowed Kirk supporter.

“Nevertheless, despite Brady’s support for Kirk, we remain open to negotiating the conditions for a level playing field in the primary and a fair campaign. I am not going to break down Pat Brady’s door, but my own door is always open to negotiation and conciliation.

“Finally, you may be interested to learn that the toughest debate about the McCain letter came within in my own campaign. We had a series of conference calls to discuss how critical the letter to McCain should be. I did not want to tone down the language. John McCain is living in a Beltway dream world; so is Kirk. We need to send Washington’s Republican Party hucksters a strong message: stop trying to buy and broker the people’s right to vote with the corrupt cash of Beltway insiders. Illinoisans won’t buy it.

“Mark Kirk has no support in Illinois, no political support and no meaningful financial support. He is a career politician who represents Washington to Illinois, not Illinois to Washington. On February 2, 2010 we will change that orientation and put Illinoisans first.

“Please join my campaign and support us financially. Kirk has millions. Our campaign treasury would not even pay for the lobster and liquor Kirk is buying on Sunday. We need financial support.

“But just because we don’t have the cash, doesn’t mean we don’t have the heart. We will defeat mark Kirk and launch a New Republican Party in Illinois on February 2nd,” Martin stated.

Andy Martin slams senator John McCain for endorsing infanticide, gun control and surrender in Iraq

Martin says McCain’s Sunday endorsement of Mark Kirk is an act of infamy that will lead to McCain’s defeat by Arizonans in 2010. “McCain is not all there,” Martin says. “Or if he is all there, there is no ‘there,’ there.’ McCain is an embarrassment to the future of the Republican Party. Perhaps it is not surprising he is in bed with Mark Kirk.”

Re: Endorsement of Mark Kirk

Less than a year ago, I remained a loyal Republican and voted for you despite your disastrously incompetent campaign for president. I am therefore deeply disappointed to see you coming to Illinois to endorse Barack Obama’s favorite Republican for the U.S. Senate, my primary opponent Mark Kirk. The progressive incapacitation of your judgment which you manifested in 2008 appears to be worsening in 2009.

Maybe it is time for the people of Arizona to retire you in 2010. I plan to ask them to do so. Based on your endorsement of Mark Kirk it is clear you are incapable of being an effective representative for the future of the Republican Party. In rejecting your 2008 campaign, voters showed more insight and intelligence than some Republicans may have anticipated.

At the beginning of September, 2008, barely twelve months ago, you had a narrow lead. Then, as the nation confronted an unexpected economic crisis, you collapsed. First you were “Mr. Indispensable,” and had to “suspend” your campaign. Then you were the useless adjunct at a White House meeting. Finally, after fumbling away your narrow lead, you “unsuspended” your campaign and returned to the campaigning, all within 96 hours. Watching you implode was a sad spectacle.

Like almost every American I respect your wartime service. Taking the oath of enlistment was also a proud day for me. But just because you served honorably decades ago does not mean we have to respect your irascibility, flawed judgment and embarrassingly obvious political incompetence. There comes a point when we have to separate the wartime service from the peacetime reality.

I respect your right to endorse a three-legged dog for senator. That is a privilege you defended for every American. I also do not believe in rigid orthodoxy. There should be room for reasoned debate in the Republican Party.

But the problem with Mr. Kirk is not that he is an independent Republican, but rather that he is an extremely liberal Democrat.

In my opinion, you have never shown any shame or remorse for your pathetic performance as a presidential candidate last year. Today you keep hogging the camera and keep blathering on, without any apparent reflection on your dismal performance barely a year ago. Now you are coming to Illinois to try to sell a Democrat to Republican primary voters. At the end of your career, your lack of judgment is making you look like a doddering idiot. You can rest assured I will come to Arizona and tell Arizonans you need a well-deserved rest. It is time for you to step down from politics.

Take a look at Kirk’s record:

1. You have a strong Second Amendment voting record. Mr. Kirk is more anti-Second Amendment than even Barack Obama. Kirk is currently sponsoring some of the most anti-gun legislation pending in Congress. Do you endorse Kirk’s proposals? Of course not. Are you going to ignore them?

2. You ran as a pro-life Republican. Mr. Kirk voted for infanticide. Do you now endorse infanticide, or do pro-life issues have no current role in your politics, until you start running for reelection in Arizona? Abortion is a complex issue and I grapple with it on a regular basis. But I do not have any doubt that Kirk's support for infanticide is rejected by almost every American. How can you expect Arizona voters to reelect an old man who can’t even keep the issue of abortion straight?

3. “The surge.” Barely a year ago, you were endlessly attacking Barack Obama for opposing the “surge” in Iraq. Mark Kirk was—if my memory serves me correctly—a Republican in Congress, and he voted against the surge. If, Kirk, who claims to be an “intelligence officer,” was so wrong about something which you presented as straightforward as the surge, how could you support an opponent of the surge and expect us to have any confidence in Kirk’s judgment? Or your own?

Was it wrong for Obama to oppose the surge, but all right for Kirk to do so? Are you really that two-faced? If so, now you know why no one outside the Beltway trusts people like you or Kirk.

You were right on the surge, Kirk was egregiously wrong. Another one of “McCain’s forgotten issues?” Do you have memory problems, Senator? Or does your mendacity know no limits?

4. Mr. Kirk refuses to release his military records. I have asked him to sign a waiver to expedite release. We all know where you were during the Viet-Nam war. We saw you come home.
There is no doubt of your heroism and commitment.

But what about Kirk? He recently claimed to have been a “warrior” in two wars. Sadly, Mr. Kirk is an armchair warrior with a Walter Mitty complex. Kirk dishonors the proud uniform of a Navy officer. Now you are assisting him in dishonoring the uniform you wore with such distinction. It is a sad day for the Navy when an authentic Navy hero endorses a Navy imposter.

If Kirk had a genuine military record, instead of a vacuous paper maché career that he has used to preen at Navy expense, I would be the first to salute him. But I asked him to waive privacy issues so his record can be made public, and he has refused. Kirk is an imposter and your endorsement makes you a party to endorsing an imposter. For shame.

5. Sadly, you are not the only person with memory problems. Mark Kirk has been in congress for almost a decade, and he has served as a career politician for decades. But like the French prefect of police who “discovers" gambling in Casablanca, Kirk only “discovered’ corruption in Illinois last month, when he announced his campaign for Governor of Illinois. Oh, I’m sorry, he said he was running for Senator, on a platform based on fighting corruption in Illinois state government.

Actually, you have fought corruption in Washington. I saw no evidence that Kirk was ever at your side. Kirk has never criticized Barack Obama, or criticized any corruption in Washington. He won’t take on the crooks right under his nose, but he wants us to believe he will be a long-distance corruption fighter in Springfield? Kirk's arguments are an insult to the intelligence of any sentient voter.

Kirk is part of a “Combine” in Illinois, a two-party corruption machine that controls the careers of both Democrats and pliant Republicans. Before you endorse Kirk tomorrow, I will offer you a challenge: try and find any newspaper clips or stories in which Kirk attacks Illinois corruption or the Combine before July, 2009. There are none.

Kirk says he wants to “clean up Springfield,” but he is running to serve in Washington. But of course, like yourself, Kirkie will say or do anything to keep their face in front of the
media.

6. Finally, Kirk has rumors swirling around him that are going to allow the Democrats to bring down his candidacy next year. Illinois has a history of senate candidates with personal embarrassments. That is why Kirk’s operatives have been trying to harass and disrupt my campaign. They are terrified that the Democrats are following what I say, so they can unload on Kirk next summer.

Returning to my original observation, many loyal Republicans voted for you. I also led a media operation that sought to expose the truth about Barack Obama's past; my efforts cost him millions of votes. In spite of yourself and your incompetent tactics, we almost elected you president.

But since making an old fool of yourself in the last campaign, you have shown no remorse or shame or embarrassment. You act as though your own role in the campaign has been erased. Instead, your cowardly operatives want to “smear the woman,” Sarah Palin, who carried water for you last year and is now seduced and abandoned in 2009.

During the 1952 Republican National Convention, Illinois Senator Everett Dirksen made an immortal remark about one of the candidates. Dirksen said “You led us down the road to defeat.” The same can be said of your own embarrassing behavior in 2008. You led us down the road to defeat. You led us down the road to defeat unnecessarily and incompetently. And almost immediately you were hogging the limelight again. No shame, no reflection, no remorse for your doddering performance.

As you come to Illinois to endorse a man who wants to confiscate guns and kill living babies, and who voted against your beloved surge, I prefer to close my admonition with something Joseph Welch said during the Army-McCarthy hearings and direct that ancient remonstrance at you: “Have you no sense of decency, sir, at long last? Have you no sense of decency?”

Your coming to Illinois to endorse a Democratic party stalking horse running in the Republican primary is an indecent act. I hope the people of Arizona put an end to your political career next year. You are an embarrassment to yourself, and to the United States Senate. It is time for you to go, and it is time for you to reconsider and not come to Illinois tomorrow. Your appearance with Mark Kirk is an act of infamy that will shadow your own reelection campaign.

Respectfully submitted,
