NFL Hall of Famer Mike Ditka withdraws his purported “endorsement” of Pat Hughes
Andy Martin asks for clarification
(CHICAGO)(October 15, 2009) Republican U. S. Senate candidate and insurgent “Internet Powerhouse” Andy Martin has received a statement from a publicist for Mike Ditka indicating that Ditka has not “endorsed” Hughes and that Ditka rejects Hughes’ efforts to remove African-Americans from the Republican Party’s primary ballot.
“Hughes appears to have misrepresented his purported ‘endorsement’ by Mike Ditka,” Martin noted. “Ditka says he only endorsed two of Hughes’ views, which is not support for the candidate. Hughes claims Ditka is on his Finance Committee, which Ditka appears to refute.
“Once again Pat Hughes is caught lying and exaggerating. Why is this man being supported by Christian conservatives?
“I have advised Mr. Ditka I am a Republican, not a Democrat; it is usually in 18-point type in my releases. I understand that Mike is outraged; I am also outraged at Hughes misrepresentations about a nonexistent endorsement.
“I received a very vehement phone call from an attorney for Mike Ditka, Steve Mandell (847) 274-1343 stating in no uncertain terms that Hughes’ claims of a Ditka endorsement are completely untrue. People may contact Mr. Ditka’s attorney for verification.
“But what does all of this say about D. Paul Caprio and Pat Hughes? They apparently victimized a beloved citizen of this city, Mike Ditka, as a sleazy tactic in Hughes’ senate campaign. Hughes’ behavior is disgraceful.”
Martin is seeking clarification on Ditka’s statement. Ditka’s statement follows:

In response to a claim by Democratic Senate candidate Andy Martin, who claimed this morning that Mike Ditka has endorsed his competitor Pat Hughes, , the Hall of Fame coach disputed his ‘endorsement’ of this candidate and his racially incendiary views.
“Pat spoke at the restaurant last week and presented small government and Reaganomic points of view,” said Ditka. He asked if I would endorse his candidacy and I indicated I supported his views on those two issues only”.
“I have long supported civil rights and would never support advocacy for the exclusion of African Americans, or any race, color or religion,” said Ditka. “All you need to do is come to my restaurant and see the diversity of our employees, customers and friends.
“These claims and rhetoric are obviously ‘politically motivated and for Andy Martin or anyone for that matter who thinks I would support these views is ludicrous,” concluded Ditka.

The funny thing about this Martin, is the fact that we warned Coach Ditka yesterday that you were coming after him and his establishment on one of your bogus journeys to try and harass him and his staff. He did not have nice things to say about you and your retarded crusade against him.
Don't think for a moment that you are even remotely liked by Mr. Ditka or that you have gained his trust. He is a man of honor and you are just a crumb under his foot.
