(CHICAGO)(July 8, 2009) Internet Powerhouse and U. S. Senate candidate Andy Martin responded to published reports today that Illinois Republican leader Andy McKenna is considering a run for the U. S. Senate.
"I welcome Andy McKenna to the senate race," Martin said. "If he has aspirations to run, he should. I look forward to a spirited primary. Mr. McKenna and I have had our differences of opinion in the past but, in the interests of coming out of the primary as a unified party, I will do my best to inform voters about my own unique insights and experience for the future of Illinois. As long as the party maintains a level playing field, I see no reason why we can't have the same kind of party unity we had after the primary in 2006."
