Andy Martin appeals for anti-Kirk cash

Martin says Kirk is a well-financed candidate because he is adept at selling his vote in Congress. But Kirk is beatable, Andy says, if his opponents will raise even a minimal war chest. Andy is in the race right through February 2, 2010. “If all I have is a dollar in my pocket, I will keep fighting Kirk as a moral imperative. We cannot surrender our democracy to the likes of Kirk and his backers.”

Dear Friends,

Five months to primary day, February 2, 2010.

It is time for me to make an appeal for funds again. Sunday, Mark Kirk said he raised a half million dollars. Barack Obama has raised over a billion dollars to fund his anti-American operations. I have been fighting both of them. On a shoestring.

Our campaign account is empty. And we owe payroll and expenses necessary to continue the campaign.

Some people are asking us for a jazzy new web site. Other political commentators are asking the anti-Kirk candidates to ramp up their campaigns. Frankly, mine is the only active anti-Kirk campaign. Have you seen anyone else out there fighting Kirk?

The bad guys always manage to raise money. The good guys think talk is enough, and it obviously isn’t. Any wonder why the bad guys rule Illinois?

Kirk sold his vote on cap and trade to Exelon. He collected $100,000 over a period of time. Then Exelon cashed in its “Kirk Cash.” As a result of Kirk’s vote, Exelon stands to make a billion. Now you know why Kirk has a flush campaign account and we don’t.

Make no mistake: we are going to fight Mark Kirk until the polls close on February 2nd. Trying to defeat Kirk is a moral imperative. But if we have five thousand dollars, and he has five million, who can you expect to be favored?

As long as I have a dollar in my pocket we will keep campaigning against Mark Kirk. But it sure would be nice to have a million dollars to fight the guy. With adequate funding we could win, maybe easily.

Tuesday we will be announcing our “Andy turns over the tables of the money changers in the temple,” campaign. We will continue to fight hard and hit hard with the limited resources at our disposal.

If you favor another primary opponent for Kirk (is there one?), by all means support that candidate. Don’t just sit there and bitch about Kirk. Make a serious commitment to fighting his nomination. No candidate can run a campaign without financial support, although I think we do a better job than anyone else of stretching the dollar.

This week we owe printing bills, payroll, travel, filing fees, overnight delivery fees, the usual expenses of a statewide campaign. Kirk has all of those costs covered and more, thanks to John McCain. We don’t. Advertising? Just a dream.

We need your help. We can beat Kirk because Kirk is beatable. But as perhaps even the great Greek scholar Archimedes would say (“Give me a lever and I can move the world”), “If you give me a big enough lever, I can defeat Mark Kirk. But I need a lever! I can’t beat him with a toothpick.”

Please give until it hurts. I can guarantee you it will hurt big time if you wake up February 3rd and Mark Kirk has won the Republican primary. So give now to avoid the hurt on February 3rd. With your support we can beat him. Without your support, Kirk stands a good chance of winning. Don’t let it happen.

Best wishes,

ANDY MARTIN

U.S. Senate Candidate, Andy Martin
Has Lost Another Battle in His Claim
to "National Conference Tapes"

It didn't take long for the Montgomery County, Maryland Office of Consumer Protection to determine that Illinois Senate candidate, Andy Martin, is up to his old tricks filing frivolous claims which he obviously had no right to file in the first place.

In the case which Mr. Martin claimed that Maryland business owner, Scott Shirley of ADR Productions had stolen the tapes where the company had filmed Martin during his so-called "National Conference on Barack Obama's Missing Birth Certificate and College Records", the complaint was dismissed as having no merit to constitute fraud. Martin had claimed fraud by Shirley and demanded that the tapes, which are the property of ADR Productions, be given to Martin for free. Martin claimed to have been a customer of the production company but it was determined that he actually had never been a customer. "We never had a contract with Mr. Martin and we never had offer and acceptance of any money. The real fraud is Mr. Martin lying about being our customer, which he had claimed, to Consumer Protection and the Better Business Bureau." Shirley stated.

It seems Martin continues to be on the short end of the stick as his conspiracy theory flames seem to be burning out. It was one week ago today that ADR Productions had won a victory in court when they granted a final protection order against Martin for harassment. I'd say it's a 0 and 2 count with only one more strike 'til your out Mr. Martin.

Shirley says he will be glad to offer a sync license for use of the footage contained in the tapes. He estimates that the total cost for the full three hours of tape would run in the area of $10,000. He has also considered just destroying them due to the content contained within the tapes.
